I met the plane on Saturday
morning. |
| That afternoon we
went down to Lake Merritt to visit Fairyland. Hadley got a
special key that would operate the boxes with recorded fairytale
songs. There were many things to see ... Ferris wheel,
merry-go-round, train, slides, etc.
After Fairyland, we walked around Lake Merritt to the Lake Chalet
restaurant for lunch and the new Christ of the Light Catholic
Cathedral.

| On Sunday, we went into Montclair for
the Farmer's Market. We bought some falafels, pita, fresh
fruit and other special Indian and Mexican foods and brought them
back to eat for lunch.

| On Monday we drove to San Francisco's
Golden Gate Park and to the California Academy of Sciences complex.
We strolled through the humid tropical rain forest to see birds and
butterflies. Then to the aquarium where we saw the albino
alligator.

After
lunch at the Beach Chalet, we drove past the Legion of the Palace of
Honor, through Sea Cliff across the Golden Gate Bridge before
returning home.

| Saturday evening: friends came over for dinner.

Bob
from Redlands
On Saturday we ate supper in the Castro then attended the
musical, Tales of the City at the Curran.
On Sunday we drove to Guerneville at the Russian River with
Renato.
