Bangkok, Thailand
On our first day in Bangkok, we walked a short distance to the start of the water bus lines. We bought a day pass for about $5.
Along the way, a woman stopped us to chat. She has a daughter who lives in CT.
Cool water breezes.
River scenes. Wat Arun (right), the iconic Temple of Dawn built in the early 1800s.
On of the "bus stops"
You can buy fish food to feed this churning river catfish,
Mother and son feeding bread to the fish.
Heating big pot on small charcoal cooker on street corner.
Below are different shots of street food! Looked good but we are kind of afraid to eat it.
Shopping in Chinatown ... and a temple and gate on the street on our walk back to the hotel.
When we ate ate our hotel's restaurant at night, the moths/insects were attracted to the bright lights and about a dozen of these geckos were there to feed!
Now a trip on the sky train to downtown and a visit to some very exclusive/expensive shopping centers.
Want a Bentley or Rolls Royce?
At night we went over the Maxis Bar and Restaurant where we met our friends John and Max. It was John's birthday and we got to share in the celebration. Strawberry ice cream cake and Champaigne.
