Stephen & Tim 40/70 Celebration Aug 27, 2023

On Sunday, Jon and Charlie picked me up and we drove over to Walnut Creek to Rossmoor. This was to celebrate Steve’s 70th birthday and 40 years that he and Tim have been together. We were a little early and walked around the area of the club house. I was quite impressed with the craft facilities: wood working, lapidary, ceramics/pottery, sewing, painting.

Twelve tables where set up. I sat with Jon (above, left), Charlie, John, David, Steve/Tim’s Oakland Realtor (Jennie, above in Pink) and her wife. This was in the Fireside Room at Rossmoor. Tim had made a great slide show (projected on the screen in the back.

Jenny, David, John and Charles. The buffet table was in the back. Delicious Mexican food. Dessert came out on the table with white cloth to the left. Tim had put together a music play list which brought people to the dance floor. The caterers were friends of Steve and Tim’s with a San Leandro restaurant we’ve been to in the past. They provided bartenders, table waiters and buffet servers, etc. We ate red rice, beans, tortillas, pork, cheese enchiladas and chicken enchiladas.

There were 2 door prizes. Out of the 100 guests, Jon won the first one and Charlie won the second one! Hmmmmm. We really had a great time. We saw Steve and Tim’s families, their Detroit Avenue, Oakland, neighbors and childhood friends whom we’ve known for decades. We’ve known some of their former neighbors for 30-some years!

A surprise: Terry and Don were there too! They recently moved from the Gilroy area to the Sonora California foothills. Laterzzzz
